Title: City of Glass
Author: Cassandra Clare
Pages: 492
Publication Date: Mar. 24th, 2009
Back Cover: Amid the chaos of war, the Shadowhunters must decide to fight with the vampires, werewolves and other Downworlders - or against them. Meanwhile, Jace and Clary have their own decision to make: should they pursue their love they know is forbidden.
First Lines: The cold snap of the previous week was over; the sun was shining brightly as Clary hurried across Luke's dusty front yard, the hood of her jacket up to keep her hair from blowing across her face.
My Thoughts: More drama, more action, more mysteries. The Mortal Instruments series just keeps getting better. Cassandra Clare just keeps pulling out more magnificent ideas, plots and twists for each book.
City of Glass is more dramatic than the previous books in the series, which had more comedy in them. Whilst there is some comedy in the City of Glass, the focus is on the drama. With the blood tie mysteries, the characters have to delve deeper into their past and their parents' past to find out the truth about their heritage and upbringing.
With a terrifying, thrilling ending, this book is one of the best books I have ever read. With the drama, suspense, and warlocks who like to dress up, this is a must read book.
