Waiting on Wednesday 11: The Selection by Kiera Cass

 The Selection (The Selection, #1)

For thirty-five girls, the Selection is the chance of a lifetime. The opportunity to escape the life laid out for them since birth. To be swept up in a world of glittering gowns and priceless jewels. To live in the palace and compete for the heart of the gorgeous Prince Maxon.

But for America Singer, being Selected is a nightmare. It means turning her back on her secret love with Aspen, who is a caste below her. Leaving her home to enter a fierce competition for a crown she doesn't want. Living in a palace that is constantly threatened by violent rebel attacks.

Then America meets Prince Maxon. Gradually, she starts to question all the plans she's made for herself- and realises that the life she's always dreamed of may not compare to a future she never imagined.

Why I can't wait?

I have heard great things about this book by reading reviews by bloggers who have an ARC of this book. I have to admit that the cover was the first thing that pulled me in. It is absolutely gorgeous! The blurb has also intrigued me to read this book, it sounds so unique and a bit like the Hunger Games (the choosing and selection without the people getting a say). Come faster, April 24th. I'm just glad it comes out this year instead of next year!

What book are you waiting for?

  1. Sounds like a really great book, one i should probaly add to my wishlist

  2. Whoa, that sounds really cool! I'm definitely going to check it out. To me, it kind of sounds like a mix between the Hunger Games, like you said, and the Princess Academy by Shannon Hale, another awesome read.
