Title: Blood Promise
Author: Richelle Mead
Pages: 503
Publication Date: Aug. 25th, 2009
Back Cover: Guardian Rose Hathaway's life will never be the same.
The recent attack on St. Vladimir's Academy devastated the entire Moroi world. Many are dead. And, for the few victims carried off by Strigoi, their fates are even worse. A rare tattoo now adorns Rose's neck, a mark that says she's killed far too many Strigoi to count. But only one victim matters . . . Dimitri Belikov. Rose must now choose one of two very different paths: honoring her life's vow to protect Lissa—her best friend and the last surviving Dragomir princess—or, dropping out of the Academy to strike out on her own and hunt down the man she loves. She'll have to go to the ends of the earth to find Dimitri and keep the promise he begged her to make. But the question is, when the time comes, will he want to be saved?
This book just didn't live up to my expectations. The book was seriously lacking drama and action. Sometimes it felt as if something big and adventurous was building up, but then nothing happens. One good thing Richelle Mead added into this book was character personality changes. Whilst the characters where fine before, during this book you see them grow and express emotions that you don't think capable of them.
This isn't one of the best books that you will ever read, but if you have read the first three books in the Vampire Academy series, then this would be an alright book for you to read. Even though there isn't much action, the character's maturing and different emotions will make up for some of the drama that isn't included in the book.

First Lines: Once when I was in ninth grade, I had to write a paper on a poem. One of the lines was, "If your eyes weren't open, you wouldn't know the difference between dreaming and waking."
My Thoughts: Sometimes I find that girls in books are extremely whiny, stupid, and arrogant. This book is living (well paper) proof of that. Rose is so self-absorbed by the people she meets on her quest, that she sometimes forgets what she is even meant to be doing in the first place.
