Waiting on Wednesday 3: Clockwork Prince by Cassandra Clare

Clockwork Prince (The Infernal Devices, #2)

In Clockwork Prince, with Mortmain vanished and the clock counting down on how long Charlotte can keep control of the Institute away from Benedict Lightwood, Will, Jem and Tessa must dig into Mortmain’s past to predict what he will do in the future, But secrets about Mortmain aren’t all they find buried — Tessa begins to uncover the truth about her own birth, and the ghosts of Will’s past return to haunt him. As Tessa grows closer to Jem, and Will is driven further toward the brink of madness by jealousy and guilt, will they discover the truth in time to halt the next phase of Mortmain’s evil plan?

I cannot wait for this book to come out! It is the second book in the Infernal Devices series by Cassandra Clare, who is one of my favourite authors. The cover is brilliant, and the story sounds excellent. There is so much that I want to know which wasn't explained in the first book. This book comes out on the 6th of December, 2011. I can't wait!

  1. I want to finish City of Glass before I read the Infernal Devices. I had an opportunity to hear an excerpt from this book at an event Clare was at, it sounded dark and her writing seemed different from Mortal instruments

  3. I have City of Bones sitting on my TBR right now. I really need to sit down and check that out so I'll finally know what all the fuss about Cassandra Clare is about. I hope that you enjoy Clockwork Prince when it comes out, though. :)

  4. The Infernal Devices series is a bit darker than The Mortal Instruments series because most of the characters have a mysterious/dark past. There is also less comedy, but they are still worth reading.

  5. Definitely the most popular book this week. Like you and many others I am anxious to revisit Will, Jem, and Tessa in Clare's Victorian world

  12. Cassandra Clare sure knows how to write a love scene. Her hot and steamy writing, while appropriate for a young adult audience, will have women regardless of age tearing through the pages of her Infernal Devices sequel, Clockwork Prince in eager anticipation of the passionate make-out sessions and heated embraces. And, of course, the addition of a heartbreaking love triangle never fails to heighten the emotion of an already charged atmosphere.
