Waiting on Wednesday 5: Insurgent by Veronica Roth

 Insurgent (Divergent, #2)

One choice can transform you—or it can destroy you. But every choice has consequences, and as unrest surges in the factions all around her, Tris Prior must continue trying to save those she loves—and herself—while grappling with haunting questions of grief and forgiveness, identity and loyalty, politics and love.

Tris's initiation day should have been marked by celebration and victory with her chosen faction; instead, the day ended with unspeakable horrors. War now looms as conflict between the factions and their ideologies grows. And in times of war, sides must be chosen, secrets will emerge, and choices will become even more irrevocable—and even more powerful. Transformed by her own decisions but also by haunting grief and guilt, radical new discoveries, and shifting relationships, Tris must fully embrace her Divergence, even if she does not know what she may lose by doing so.

Insurgent by Veronic Roth is the sequel to Divergent, and is expected to come out on May 28th, 2012. I just finished reading Divergent and cannot wait for this book to come out. The ending left me with so many questions that I hope are answered in the second book. Basically, I cannot wait for this book to come out!

  7. I really liked Divergent, and I hoped that Insurgent would be as good, if not better. I hoped that Insurgent would expound on some of the mystery behind the world that Tris lives in. I also hoped to see Tris and Tobias' relationship develop and grow deeper. Veronica Roth delivered all that and more! This book is amazing. The action, the characters, the world-building, the lessons are all awesome. The story becomes so much more complex and I love it. We learn more about the factions and their motives and we learn more about the characters (not just Tris and Tobias). I was so glad to see more of Uriah. I really liked him in Divergent because he was one of the few to accept Tris for who she is and not what he expected her to be. I also enjoyed learning more about Zeke and Shauna. Even though they played a minor role, their relationship is so sweet. Christina is more developed too and I think she becomes a much better friend to Tris in the story. I'm kind-of hoping that she and Uriah will end up together in the next book.
