Top Ten Book Series I Feel Everyone Has Read But Me

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by The Broke and the Bookish where you design top ten lists which have a connection with books. This week is a freebie week. For this week, I have chosen to write about the top ten book series that I feel everyone has read except me. In no particular order, they are:

  1. Harry Potter Series by J. K. Rowling: As one of the most talked about childrens/ young adult series, Harry Potter has taken the world by storm. Whilst I have watched all of the movies, I have not yet read any of the books (Gasp!). They are definitely a high priority in my TBR pile for 2015.
  2. Heroes of Olympus Series by Rick Riordan: Rick Riordan novels have always appealed to me, so I'm not sure why I still haven't read them. Gods, demigods, mythology and heroes. Yet, here I am having not read a single one of his books.
  3. Percy Jackson and the Olympians Series by Rick Riordan: Again, I have no idea why I haven't read these books yet!
  4. The Lunar Chronicles by Marissa Meyer: Since the release of Cinder, there has been a lot of hype surrounding this series by book bloggers and vloggers. I've always been interested in fairy tales, but I think the fact that the books have cyborgs has just never appealed to me. Is this a series that I should definitely consider?
  5. Across the Universe Series by Beth Revis: Space and I have never done well together. Just the thought that there is so much yet to be discovered makes me feel so tiny. I mean, there could be creatures on planets in other galaxies that know we are here but we have never found them. It just freaks me out!
  6. The Maze Runner Series by James Dashner: I loved the movie adaptation of The Maze Runner! After leaving the cinemas, I really wanted to read the novel. But, I always do some research about each book that I want to read to find out what other people think. Whilst a lot of people have read this series, I don't feel like everyone enjoyed it as much as I had hopes. I suppose it depends on the individual, but I don't know if I will ever get around to reading this series.
  7. Throne of Glass Series by Sarah J. Maas: The Throne of Glass series is high up on my TBR series for this year. The books sound fantastic, and I have heard so many good things about this them!
  8. Daughter of Smoke and Bone Series by Laini Taylor: I must admit, I don't know much about this series. Just that I haven't read it and a whole bunch of people have raved about it.
  9. The Raven Cycle Series by Maggie Stiefvater: I struggled to get through the Shiver series by Maggie Stiefvater. Whilst I have heard that these books are fantastic once you get into them, I'm still not convinced. Are these books really as good as people say?
  10. The Lux Series by Jennifer L. Armentrout: Aliens. Space. We've already talked about this.

  1. Oh my goodness you haven't read The Raven Cycle and the Throne of Glass books!!! You're missing out! I didn't really like Maggie Stiefvater's Wolf's of Mercy Falls books either, but I promise The Raven Cycle are nothing like them!
And I have to admit I'm not really interested in read the Across the Universe or Lux books either even though everyone says they're amazing.

    1. Sounds like I'll definitely have to add them to the ever growing TBR pile! Yay! I thought I was the only one who wasn't interested in the Across the Universe or Lux Books! Thank you for the great response!

  2. First, I was the same way about the Lunar Chronicles, because cyborgs? Yeah, not my thing. But it is so much more than that! It's definitely worth the read.

While I've only read the first half of the first Shiver book I feel confident in saying that Raven Boys is way better. It does take a little time to get into it though so if you aren't into slow starting books I wouldn't blame ya for skipping it.

I didn't like the first Across The Universe book and am very conflicted on trying the Lux series, I think it's too much romance for me.

Love this list, you picked an awesome topic! =)

  4. You haven't read Harry Potter? You must change this. I'd love to read them for the first time again. :-) I also haven't read the Lunar Chronicles but want to. And Throne of Glass is one of my books to read next month. :-) Great list.

  6. I haven't read the Lux books or the Raven Cycle books, or the Heroes of Olympus series but I have read at least one book from every other series you've listed. Some are great and I'll finish them but there's a couple that I've already given away the whole series as I know I won't read them!

    My Top Ten Tuesday!

  9. Ha I love this list. I must admit I'm going to sound repetitive. Get on some of these series; they are fantastic. Like the Maas series and Lunar series. Reconsider Lunar Chronicles don't let the cyborg thing stop you.

I felt the same way until I picked it up. :)

As far as Maze Runner, I didn't want to read the series but after watching the movie I did something I never do--I did a searchon wikapedia. Not a series I'll be reading but at least I know how it ends.

Thanks for sharing. My post is about the 10 series I never finished. here's mine

  11. Lovely list! You must read The Lunar Chronicles and Daughter of Smoke and Bone, though I like the first much more. I was like you, wasn't really interested in either one of those but then they completely blew my mind! The Lunar Chronicles books keep getting better and better! Hope you'll enjoy them if you choose to read them! :)

  12. I am happy to inform you that you are not alone. Other than the Harry Potter series, I have yet to read any of the series you list.

I do want to read The Lunar Chronicles by Marissa Meyer. And The Maze Runner books. I saw the movie and really liked it. I know the book reviews have been mixed, but it's one of those I want to see for myself, you know? The Raven Cycle series comes highly recommended so I probably will give it a try. I admit though the Shiver books you mention haven't appealed to me. And Daughter of Smoke and Bone Series by Laini Taylor--highly recommended by everyone, so I'll probably try it at some point.

  13. Wait, you haven't read these? Where do you live? Kidding kidding... I haven't read HP *gasp!* because I kind of will not like to read read the books *double gasp!*. I haven't read The Raven Cycle, Across the Universe, Throne of Glass and Daughter of Smoke and Bone, I wish to, but some things go against me. Like only having part of the series, not having it at all or waiting for all the books to come out. *shrugs* Great LIST! my ttt<3
